[livejournal.com profile] mysryael and I put together a wonderful dayshade for Crown Tourney (pictures to follow). It's ~15'x15', goes up in under 20 minutes, and was able to withstand moderate winds with ease. We're very happy with it, and hope to show it off at an event coming soon.

This is the first time I've ever had a dayshade of my own. I have the Anglo-Saxon geteld, but it has PVC poles, is really bulky and is hard to use at a tournament. I've never realized until Crown how wonderful it is to have a space of one's own, and to be able to offer the hospitality of one's own shade and food to others like that. It was a wonderful experience that I wish more people could have.

With that in mind, I'm thinking about making these dayshades for public consumption. The materials are relatively inexpensive, they're easy to build, and are nice enough that I think people might actually pay for them.

So I created a poll to guage what people are looking for in a dayshade.
