Quick observation

With less than two months to go before mid-term elections, gas prices start to fall as the government discovers "wow, I guess we have enough oil after all!" Now, I'm not a cynical man (be quiet, all of you who know me), but I can't help but look for a connection. I wonder what theatrics the administration will reveal the closer we get to elections, or indeed '08. Will Bush, dressed in a superhero outfit with an elephant blazoned on the chest, swoop down and personally capture Osama bin Laden as he attempts to blow up Congess, which for some inexplicable reason is filled past capacity with children, pregnant women and kittens?

You know, last Saturday I commented to a friend "Hmmm, two oilmen in the White House, their party is showing possible major losses in the next election, and suddenly gas prices are plummeting downwards. What a surprise........"

A LOT of people seem to also be making that connection. Look for prices to skyrocket again post-election.

That's been one of my thoughts recently too. I guess the Oil Companies fear a Democratic controlled Congress, so they're dropping gas prices in a bid to try and get people not to think about how much gas it cost them to get to the polling place and to not vote against the Republican contender...

It's not that far fetched really...
