Pictures of the weaving project

As promised, here are photos of the weaving project, still in progress. Images behind cuts.



As you can see, I've not gotten all that far, about 15 inches into the project. Still, it's coming along nicely, and my one big flub, where I counted 5 too many cards in the wrong direction, isn't completely noticable in the fletching.



In the old project, the shaft of the arrow is extremely thin. It's been bulked up somewhat in the new design, and I've dropped 20 cards, so there's less empty space to fill. For those who still weren't sure what I was talking about, you can see here that the pattern is reversible.

I took pictures up close to compare the weaving styles and the size differences between the old and new sashes, but they came out very blurry. Thoughts?

Just Ordeal. I moved a couple times afterwards and didn't feel comfortable with the Lodges at the other bases, or the troops for that matter.

Dropping 20 cards looks to have been a good call. The arrow fills the space better.

It appears that your width control is not quite dialed in yet. I can't tell how that is going on the current piece. It's not way off, but it is noticeable. It does appear that you are beating it sufficiently.

Now, just imagine doing one in silk... :)

My width control is a lot better in the new piece than it was in the old. Part of that was the care I took in the second warp, but part of it was being cognizant of width after I folded the old piece back over itself and realized there was a 1/4" difference in the beginning width and ending width that was a gradual taper all the way up the work.
