I finished the project on Saturday afternoon, in Bakersfield. Below the cut are pictures of the final product, along with comparisons to the original sash (note: I did not have the original sash with me during weaving, so the arrows are not quite the same length...)

The original sash is on the left.

And finally, a photo of the sash with the proud new owner, my grandfather.

Tonight I rewarp my loom and begin on project #2.

Awww, that sash is great! I hope your grandfather appreciates it because it suits him well.

He was giddy when he first put it on. It was a wonderful thing to see.

A giddy gran is seriously wonderful.

So, did you get your badge for weaving?

And what is project #2?

I did get one for basket-weaving, yes, but that was a while back. :-P

Project #2 is the AoA/GoA badge set sampler for Caid. I hope to have it done by Crown, so that I can present the strip and the patterns to TRMs.

Very Nice! Congrats on a first project so well done :)

#2 is the badges of Caid, right? Good luck with that, too. If it works out well, I'm sure you'll get requests for the charted patterns, so be prepared.

Thanks!

Yes, #2 is the Caidan badges. I have the charts ready for presentation, and they'll be given along with the strip to TRMs (in the hopes that they'll get disseminated).

Thanks, Herveus. I couldn't have done it without your help.

I'm in the middle of showing this to a co-worker who has one of them himself. He made "ooo aaah" noises. I suggested to him to consider one woven in silk (20/2 would be the right weight, or a bit heavier). He made more appreciative noises.

Yeah, I wove this in #10 cotton crochet yarn. No idea what that translates to in silk.
