The Claus Chronicles, entry 4A
Dec. 17th, 2007 09:14 pmLast week saw the final flights of Father Christmas for this holiday season. It began on Monday, with the Permanente Human Resources office party.
Because of modern sensibilities (and the secretary of the Board of Directors wanting to be Mrs. Claus) I donned not my traditional green but a rented Coca-Cola style Santa suit. PHR throws an excellent party each year, with lots of entertainment and gift-giving, and this year was no exception. I sat in a lavish throne of red and gold with lion heads roaring at each leg; it looked like a Narnian throne. I danced with Mrs. Claus, ran a singing bee, and stepped in as emergency MC when a couple of the games started to turn sour.
All in all, it was a fun event, but I really wasn't in my element. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all that my department does for its people, but I'm not an office party kind of guy. Honestly, if I wasn't wearing the suit, I probably wouldn't have spent much time at the event.
However, quite a bit of good did come out of this gig, including fun pictures of me with co-workers on my lap, seen below.

Because I don't really see office party performance and my Father Christmas endeavor as the same, I'm separating out this past weekend from it. The final installment for the season will be posted in a few minutes.
