British Judges abandon wigs for new "Star Trek" look."

Bah. This isn't Trekkie at all. It's a poor execution of a mediocre idea, but it's not Trekkie. If they really want the Star Trek look, they should go with the Q Judge's robes that we first see in "Encounter at Farpoint":

I maen, weren't those robes supposed to be from a court in the mid-to-late 21st century, or am I mis-remembering?

Indeed. But they did not say from where.

I thought from the context of the scene that it was from a war-torn Earth. Admittedly, it didn't give a country, but I could have sworn the outfits were Terran.

But are they British? There are hundreds on nations on the planet Earth today.

Everyone had an American accent (not that that means much 50-60 years from now) so they probably aren't British. I'm just saying they're not Klingon; they're Terran, and have the potential to be British, or British-influenced. And if we're gonna get there, why not start with the most recognizable judicial regalia in the world?

As you will, but if Lichtenstein adopts the Q look, you'll be sorry you said that. ::grin, duck, runaway!::

c.2079, the post-atomic horror. Probably the Eastern Coalition, as the US seen in that era was impoverished but recovering, given the cease-fire in the 2050s.

(MemoryAlpha rocks.)

heh, but don't be knocking Babylon 5.
it's baberlicious to the fifth power!

I think the judges should go with the clothes they wore in the future, on the movie "Bill and Ted's Exellent Adventure"
