My torches passed.

In the most recent Letter of Acceptances and Returns, my latest submission (changing my white torches with red and gold flames to simple gold torches) was accepted. The icon above shows the old and new versions of the badge (with some artistic license taken, using two different versions of Or, and the wrapped bands). A larger version appears here.

Of course, this is just one way to depict the torches. Another is to draw them thinner, with a wider flare at the top, much like a trumpet. Not that I'd ever do such a thing.....

Well, I think we can both agree that more than a few eyebrows would be raised if I depicted my torches more like this:

Even more so if I were to create polished bronze pendants of the trumpetesque torches and, say, give them to heralds who help out at GWW this year...

You mean the Order of the Burning Trumpet from Meridies? :-D That is a heraldry specific award, btw, from what I understand. Lucky you, they don't have a badge registered (yet), just the name registered in 1981. There have been 48 recipients so far, per the Kingdom Heraldic website.

From what I understand, they do have a badge registered. June 1994, (Fieldless) A trumpet Or issuing flames gules. Ironically, my previous badge was closer to a registered kingdom order badge than this (though Northshield registered theirs after I registered mine). Order of Brigits Flame: (Fieldless) A torch argent enflamed proper. In both cases, the kingdom had one upright, while I had two crossed in saltire.
