cormac: headshot of me, with a subliminal message (Father Christmas)

Some of these questions aren't fair

So I drive up to Bakersfield sometimes to get fabric, but that's because the local fabric stores are awful and I don't go near the LA fashion district. And yes, I look like Eric the Red sometimes, but it has nothing to do with my persona (unless you count Father Christmas as an alternate persona...oh sweet God).

Your result for The hardcore SCA Test...

King's Advisor

You may just be older than dirt, or a raving lunatic. You are about as involved as you could possibly be in the SCA. When you are at events you probably look like you just stepped out of a book. You're blood runs in kingdom colors, you are probably a peer, and your living room probably looks a lot like your campsite. You should probably get some help for your addiction, or see if someone will write a book about you.

I'm curious....why don't you go near the LA fabric district?

It's a madhouse out there, and I don't really like to "shop" per se. I much prefer to be able to go to one store, go to one aisle in that store, find the fabric I'm looking for, purchase it, and leave. With the fashion district, you have to walk all over, do comparison pricing, haggle, get lost, pay to park...it's too much hassle, in my opinion.

I see. I guess I handle the fabric district differently, because I go directly to the shops where I am known by name, tell them what I'm looking for, and they haul it out for me. Even my parking guy knows me on sight!

I also try not to go on Friday or Saturday, and if I must, go very early, arriving before the shops open and leaving before noon.

I got Queen's Champion on the test, but it's hardly accurate, as years of Pennsic involvement belie the fact that I attend only those events I have a specific task set up in advance for.

I wanna go shopping with you! My one trip to the fabric district was overwhelming.

Oh, and cormac -- test result sounds pretty accurate to me! *ducking and running*

That can be arranged, once I get back to CA in mid-September.

Gee, I only pulled 68% "Queen's Champion." Well, it's been a rebuilding year.

I only got 65% QC, probably because of late my only participation is Pennsic.
