"Figures. Predictable, really I suppose. It was an act of purest optimism to have posed the question in the first place."
I just got a call from the realtor. Our bid on the condo was rejected for the cash-only purchaser. This is the second time this particular condo, so perfectly suited to my needs, has passed through my fingers.
Is it bad that I hope escrow falls through on the other guy, and it goes back on the market at an even lower price? Is it bad that I would probably put out another offer?

One bit of advice though...from having seen friends go though this process with unpleasant results *twice*...do not use a friend as your Realtor. This is a relationship best kept on business terms only, it seems.
Best of luck, from snowy AEthelmearc, t_C
